TAMAF was delighted to invite our patrons to an exclusive private tour of the Lauder Collection at the newly unveiled Sotheby’s at the Breuer Building.

The tour began with champagne and light treats in the former Whitney boardroom, where guests gathered for conversation before continuing through the galleries. Specialists from Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Department—its rising young stars—led our group through the exhibitions, offering insights and highlighting major works featured in the upcoming auctions.

Guests had the opportunity to view exceptional works by Picasso, Brancusi, Léger, Klimt, as well as masterpieces of early German and Viennese modernism.

This rare experience marked a significant moment in New York’s cultural landscape, celebrating Sotheby’s opening in its new home while offering an intimate look at one of the most important private collections of modern art assembled in our time.
